Los Angeles Times:Duffy Electric Boat plots new course to endure economic head wind

The Duffy Electric Boat Company was written about in the Los Angeles Times series of articles titled “Made in California.” In it they chronicle the company created by Marshall “Duffy” Duffield and speak of what changes he’s had to made to continue manufacturing these wonderful boats in Southern California.
The article starts with:
“Marshall Duffield is the first to admit that the Mojave Desert is a strange place to build boats.
At a factory near Adelanto, Calif., his Duffy Electric Boat Co. turns out its buoyant products even though the only water for miles around — the California Aqueduct — isn’t navigable.”
